I am just procrastinating on a whole bunch of projects/assignments that are due next week so...yea...I may not be blogging much.
Love and Marriage is the topic of today's blog and if you are wondering about why they sudden change of genre to romantic stuff, it is due to the fact that we ( as in me and my English class ) are reading Romeo and Juliet.
So far from what I have read from the story, it seems that some of the women in this story are either married off to someone from a young age or become a nun to escape being married off to some random stranger. So back then women would have two choices, become a nun or be sent to marry some strange man that you have never met before, isn't that great? And yes, I am being sarcastic. This is not what I believe in, people should have the right to choose whom they like to spend the rest of their lives with and not choose between either a life of not much freedom and a life with someone that you may not even love or know very well. In addition, it seems that women in this story do not have much of a voice at all and many times I wonder why do people have so much trouble getting along with others, it is not hard! It is called Social Skills, talk it out people!
To end off, I would like to show you guys a video that would have been VERY useful to know about this afternoon because I had the same problem. Well this is it for today, Goodbye everyone!
This is great Steven. Two things: the first is that women will gain a voice as we continue to read on in the play! So don't get too frustrated yet! But you have made some good observations!
ReplyDeleteThe second is that your sentence: It is called Social Skills, talk it out people! needs a semi colon in it not a comma (you have two subject and two verbs and therefore two sentences).
Great Start!!
