Hello! How are you all doing? Hmm? what's that? I haven't posted last time? Yes I know and I'm sorry. It seems that with the March Break(WOOT!!!) coming closer, some of my teachers find it the perfect time to give out a couple of projects due right before the break, which is this week. So I haven't been getting enough sleep, even though I sleep almost seven hours a day, and haven't been getting my video game fix for a while now. And to top it all off, i need to get my copy of Mass Effect 3, which in my opinion is the best game series of this generation, great story, game play is smooth and the voice acting along with the animations is just awesome!
Alright no more of me rambling on about my problems it is time to get to the main idea of today's post, which is an oxymoron. However, it isn't just any oxymoron, it is one of the most famous ones, it is from Romeo and Juliet (It's Shakespeare, so you know it's good). Without further ado, the quote is (drum roll please)... "Parting is such sweet sorrow!" To begin, oxymoron's are words that contradict each other and similar to a paradox, but the two contradicting words are usually right next to each other.
An example would be "parting is such sweet sorrow" another example could be "the hurricane turned the island resort into a hellish paradise." Or.....
Oxymoron's are generally used to draw attention towards a pair of words.
This scene is with Juliet saying...
"Good night, good
night! parting is such sweet sorrow,
That I shall say good
night till it be morrow." (2. 2. 201-202)
...to Romeo and I believe that this used in this scene because both of them has to part away, so that is the "sorrow" part. However at the same time, both of them cannot wait until they meet again and embrace in each others' love, which is the "sweet" part.
Anyways to end this off, my personal experience with a funny situation on YouTube. So here's the story, I was watching a YouTube video when I get a Rogers internet ad about switching and getting better, no lag service. The funny thing was is, I already have Rogers and that the ad was, you guessed it, Lagging. So yea, that was quite funny for me and that is it for today, Goodbye everyone and have a nice break!!
Excellent job Steven!
